Immunizations/Tuberculosis (TB) Testing
In addition to any PWHCC recommendations, as a requirement of HCAP, you must also receive a negative Mantoux tuberculin skin test (TST), otherwise known as a TB Test. Please note that the PWHCC may not recommend you to be TB tested, but it is a requirement to enter post-secondary schooling. Please note: For TB testing, you may have to return in 48 hours to have the test read. Please ensure you learn what the procedure is at your chosen clinic.
Since you cannot self-report your immunization status to the PWHCC until you have a VCH domain login, please following the order shown below:
- Get your VCH domain login during your first week on site (if you are an internal employee, please skip to step 2 or 3)
- Self-report your immunization status at https://immunizations.healthcarebc.ca/
- The PWHCC will alert you to check your recommended immunizations via the Self Look-up Tool once your immunization status has been assessed by an Occupational Health Nurse
- Print off your recommended immunizations and book an appointment below to get your immunizations and TB testing completed
There may be a cost associated with TB testing – if so, please pay upfront and submit your receipt to HCAPemployees@vch.ca for reimbursement.

You can attend any of VCH employee immunization clinics on, or after your hire date with VCH, as you wouldn’t be in VCH system until then.
Please note that TB skin testing is currently provided on Mondays and/or Tuesdays, and you will need to return for TB reads on Wednesday, or Friday. Please make sure you book your appointment for a MONDAY or TUESDAY and INFORM STAFF you are an HCAP participant when you arrive. If you are unable to attend the immunization clinics above, please attend any of the partner pharmacies (found at the bottom of this page) and/or find a local clinic capable of TB testing (as pharmacies do not provide TB testing)
